Rome, NY — Presented by the Project Fibonacci Foundation and sponsored by NYSTEC, the 4th Annual Tap Into STEAM Fundraiser will take place on Monday, September 15 at Copper City Brewing Company in Rome.  The highly anticipated community celebration marks the official kickoff to the Mohawk Valley Gives (MVG) campaign, bringing together area residents, businesses, and nonprofit organizations for an evening of camaraderie, entertainment, and giving.  MVG is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Herkimer-Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation.

This year’s event will support eight area nonprofits: The Project Fibonacci Foundation, Whitney’s Legacy, Rome Art and Community Center, On Point for College, Mohawk Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Association, Rome Capitol Theatre, and the SUNY Polytechnic Foundation.  Guests will experience both silent and live auctions, featuring premier prizes such as the new Sleep & Savor + Spa for Two package at The Lodge at Turning Stone Casino and Skana Spa, courtesy of Mohawk Valley Edge; a brand-new La-Z-Boy recliner donated by Joe Tahan’s Furniture; a handcrafted Adirondack crafted chair provided by Adirondack Furniture; a private one-hour concert by the Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Association, Finger Lakes wine tour and travel packages, and much more.  Additional basket raffles, casual cuisine from Crust, and Copper City Brewing’s craft beer will round out a festive evening of philanthropy and fun.

Tickets are $20 in advance and include a limited-edition Copper City Brewing Company–Project Fibonacci pint glass, complimentary food, live entertainment, and two tickets to seed the basket raffle.  The all-inclusive ticket package ensures that attendees can immediately join the excitement of the evening while supporting a strong slate of local nonprofits and worthy causes spanning STEAM education to the arts to other charitable endeavors.  The funds raised the night of the event will be split among the eight nonprofits with a fundraising goal set at $25,000.

Live entertainment will showcase the region’s vibrant musical culture, with performances by The Mighty Craic and the Mohawk Valley’s New Horizons Barbershop Chorus and Full Circle Quartet.  These acts will provide a lively backdrop to the event, underscoring its mission of bringing together art, innovation, community, and charitable giving that wholly benefits the community.

Dr. Andy Drozd, founder of the Project Fibonacci Foundation, shared his excitement for this year’s gathering stating, “Tap Into STEAM has grown into a signature celebration for our community.  It is more than just a fundraiser—it is an opportunity to showcase the power of collaboration, good will, and generosity across the Mohawk Valley.  Thanks to the support of NYSTEC, our community partners, and the many local businesses that contribute to this event, we are able to inspire innovation, creativity, and generosity while strengthening the nonprofits that make this region thrive.  We all are doing our part for community revitalization and well-being.”

The event serves as the official kickoff for Mohawk Valley Gives Giving Day, taking place on Friday, September 19, through the Community Foundation and UpMobility Foundation.  This regional day of giving amplifies philanthropic support across the Mohawk Valley, aligning perfectly with the spirit of Tap Into STEAM.

Tickets are available for $20 in advance at tapintosteam25.eventbrite.com and $25 at the door based on availability.
